Online shopping doesn't have to be all about discounts - luxury designers are looking to get into ecommerce, too.

Starting July 1, U.S. shoppers will be able to purchase Prada products at the designer's e-store, according to Fashionista.com.

U.K. customers have been able to purchase Prada goods online for some time, but the expansion across the Atlantic is indicative of a wider trend - that even the most affluent customers are turning to the ease and convenience of online shopping.

The website won't offer clothes, but shoppers will be able to add eyewear, accessories and leather goods - products for which the fashion powerhouse is known - to their online shopping carts, according to the source.

Prada is also considering an initial public offering on the Milan Stock Market sometime in 2012.

In addition to the U.K., the luxury fashion house currently has e-stores available to customers throughout Europe in countries such as Italy, France, Greece, Monaco and Sweden.ADNFCR-3398-ID-19867492-ADNFCR
