Tips for email marketing

In the age of ecommerce, new and innovative advertising techniques have developed to keep consumers interested and informed about the products available online. With statistics now showing that 50 percent of UK adults shop online and spend an average of £71 per month, it's never been more crucial for etailers to reach out to potential customers.

One way to entice shoppers is through email marketing. Using this process, an etailer can send a brochure or catalogue via email to reach customers who have expressed an interest in its products. However, doing so correctly requires a little bit of knowledge.

First, etailers who send many mailings at a time will find their marketing strategies winding up in spam folders. Online shopping sites must be careful to only send a few mailings each week - at most, one per day.

Second, bombarding customers with information is rarely helpful. Etailers should fill their emails with pictures of their products and let them speak for themselves. Including prices and links to more information - such as peer reviews - is also very helpful for consumers. Email marketing that is attractive and simple will catch the eye of shoppers, but an overload of text is not inviting.

In addition, email marketing can be a great way to publicise deals and specials. Having a sale isn't worth much if consumers don't know about it - but if a sale can drive traffic to an etailer's site, those customers may return to buy more items at full price.

Online marketing can be a great way to grow an online business, but etailers must be careful to do it correctly to win over new customers.ADNFCR-3398-ID-19928220-ADNFCR
