With more people connected to social media sites than ever before, companies can take advantage of this budding community. According to a recent Inside Facebook report, there are several ways brands can reach online shoppers through social media.
One way top brands can utilize social media is with a storefront application that sells products directly from the company's Facebook page. This allows shoppers to click links located on the page and be directed to the brands' payment gateway.
"Brands can direct users away from their Page to a dedicated Facebook canvas app hosting a full-featured store, or they can simply use a Page tab app as a landing page for their website’s store," wrote Inside Facebook's Josh Constine.
Companies should also place buttons on their Facebook homepage so shoppers can view the products and share their opinions with friends, the report stated.
While social media provides several benefits for ecommerce companies, an effective email campaign is also crucial. According to a recent a Bronto Software report, ecommerce brands should be adding substance to their email campaign to ensure continued growth, while headline tags should offer a course of action so the reader will want to purchase a particular product.
