According to a recent survey of 1,500 U.K. consumers by MyVoucherCodes, 91 percent between the ages of 18 to 25 use the internet on a daily basis.

Of those surveyed, 42 percent indicated they purchase goods through online payment gateways every day. Social networking also plays a key role for this age demographic. According to the study, 71 percent access social media websites on a daily basis.

"Although I think it is quite obvious that everyone uses the internet a lot, it's still quite shocking to see the figures," said Mark Pearson, chairman of MyVoucherCodes. "Obviously the internet is a great resource to have at our fingertips, but that doesn't mean we have to use it all the time."

Furthermore, of the 9 percent who do not use the internet at all, 29 percent indicated they do not have time to, while 21 percent said it is not necessary and 3 percent revealed they do not have internet at all.

The U.K. ecommerce industry increased by 19 percent in the first half of the year from the first six months in 2010, reaching £31.5 billion, according to the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index.
