As more U.K. consumers shop through online payment gateways, the U.S.-based fashion chain J.Crew plans to launch an online store in the region this month.
According to a recent Shopsafe.co.uk report, there are many affordable fashion outlets in the United Kingdom, as well as several high fashion stores, but there is not middle ground, which is why J.Crew should stand to benefit with its online store.
Although J.Crew plans to launch an online store, there are no plans to establish traditional brick-and-mortar establishments, the report stated.
"For the time being safe shopping online will be the only way to get your fill of the latest fashion items from this U.S. retailer," said Shopsafe's Graham Miller.
J.Crew is trying to target more consumer payments in the U.K. market and, according to James Agate, founder of Skyrocket, there are certain tips U.S.-based companies can use to grow in the region. Agate told Practical Ecommerce that U.S. companies must change their phrasing and keywords to reflect how U.K. consumers speak to better integrate into the market.
