The latest eRetail Benchmarket study from eDigitalResearch showed online retailers in the U.K. are reaching record-breaking levels of customer satisfaction. According to the data, the high ratings from online shoppers come after retailers have improved and updated their websites, as well as saturated their content with commonly searched keywords.

The study also found navigation is one of the highest performing areas as it affects the customer experience of all online shoppers. This underscores the need for retail sites to offer different paths for consumers to take when searching or browsing products on the website.

Derek Eccleston, research director at eDigitalResearch, said retailers must stay abreast of recent website trends as more customers are taking advantage of being able to shop when, where and how they want to.

In addition, PC Pro recently identified ways retailers can check to see if their website is attracting customers to the best of its ability. Sites should not only be easy to navigate, but consumers should be able to find specific products with ease. There should also be information and peer reviews added to each product write-up so the customer experience is enhanced.

The website should also be linked with social media accounts and pages. This will enable loyal and satisfied customers to share information and like pages pertaining to the company. These links can serve as free word-of-mouth advertising, the news source reported.
