Business Insider recently identified some important rules all e-commerce retailers should follow to see strong online sales.
To make sure consumers feel comfortable making an online purchase, retailers must provide easily accessible product photos and current contact, product, price and delivery information. In addition, e-tailers must provide security to safeguard shoppers' payment information and clearly specify the procedures and terms for complaints and returns.
Beauty blogs and websites are putting these rules into practise and experiencing significant growth in online sales. According to research by MyFaceMyBody, beauty sites and blogs have seen a 17 percent increase in revenues compared to 2010. MyFaceMyBody said the research suggests online beauty retailers are reaping the rewards of bargain shoppers spawned from the poor economic climate.
MyFaceMyBody is one of the beauty websites that has grown in 2011, due in part to its 30-second skin test that enables shoppers to use skin guides and easy-to-find solutions to common skin problems. The online retailer has enhanced the customer's shopping experience online by creating an interactive tool that provides guidance similar to what a store employee would offer.
