Vodafone recently introduced a new marketing campaign and an assortment of services to bring mobile internet to more consumers and businesses. The campaign plans to meet the demands of the growing population of online consumers and shoppers by offering services to enhance their mobile experiences through home, retail, radio and digital outlets.
More than half of the U.K. population owns a smartphone, and this population is demanding more capabilities on their phones, including purchasing power and better access to browsing features, MarketingWeek reported.
Mobile shopping is one of many new trends retailers are adjusting to this holiday season. Gulf News reported online retailers are showing growth, as more shoppers are going online to find deals and niche retailers are finding more consumers online than on the high street.
The news source reported a new wave of restructuring is in the works for the retail industry, and companies that fail to adopt to evolving trends will likely fall to web-based competitors, meaning online is a likely transition in 2012.
