The website FreeDeliveryVoucherCodes recently launched, with the goal of increasing the number of online U.K. shoppers by eliminating delivery costs, considered the top reason why certain shoppers do not purchase online. Graham Miller, director of web development company Edward Robertson, said the site launched in time for Christmas shopping, offering voucher codes consumers can use to receive free shipping from a large number of online retailers.

Retailers participating in the program include Comet, Boden, Evans Cycles and Prezzybox. The voucher codes are updated daily, so codes have a 24-hour expiration window. The website expects consumers to save around £5 from each retailer they shop at using the vouchers.

Besides delivery costs, online shoppers in the U.K. are also plagued by slow mobile internet service, impeding their ability to purchase from mcommerce sites on their mobile devices. A recent survey from eBay U.K. found nearly half of online shoppers are unsatisfied with their mobile internet speeds, making browsing and shopping difficult.

Therefore, eBay U.K. recommended the government implement a 4G spectrum to cover the nation, with particular focus on transportation hubs such as busy roads and railways. In addition, eBay proposed mobile providers should reduce roaming charges, as data showed more than one-third of U.K. mobile shoppers try to make purchases while they are travelling.
