Luxury handbag retailer Mulberry has seen significant growth in profits, as the retailer is selling more items to consumers in the U.K. and abroad.
The retailer has 86 stores and concessions globally, with 44 in the U.K. alone. In the six months leading to September, the company experienced 44 percent growth in retail sales compared to the same time in 2010. For 2011, the company has recorded £15.6 million in profits, up from £4.7 million in 2010, and total revenue grew 62 percent to £72.3 million.
For its online presence, Mulberry reported its ecommerce sales grew 52 percent year-over-year, totalling £4.8 million and accounting for 7 percent of overall sales. In the upcoming financial year, the retailer expects to upgrade its website to meet the demands of its growing consumer base.
Accapi Group recently upgraded the online store for the Ruff Wear brand in the U.K. The 7.3 million dog owners in the U.K., which accounts for 22 percent of British households, will be able to access and buy Ruff Wear's dog gear online, according to the Pet Food Manufacturers Association. The online store will offer items such as coats, harness packs, portable bowls and toys.
