Online retailer Stone Bridge Accessories recently announced it expects a 92 percent year-over-year increase in turnover for the Christmas period, as more shoppers turn to online stores for deals and convenience.
Melissa Hill, who founded the company, attributes the etailer's success in 2011 to the growth of online shoppers in the U.K. as well as campaigns the company rolled out.
"We were concerned that the economy would knock back consumer confidence again this year, so planned a number of marketing programmes during the summer," said Hill. "This definitely gave us a strong foundation as we moved towards Christmas."
While Stone Bridge has successfully utilised ecommerce to sell luxury hair clips, online giant Amazon, renowned for appealing to a massive global consumer base, recently launched its Best of Digital store. This site is designed to make it easier for online shoppers to find high-quality digital content for their various mobile devices and ereaders. The store will feature a variety of content including books, magazines, movies, TV shows, music and digital games.
