BrandAlley U.K. recently announced it was the U.K.'s leading provider of online private sales in 2011, and expects to maintain its No. 1 ranking throughout 2012.

BrandAlley U.K. CEO Rob Feldmann said the retailer's online store outperformed expectations during the Christmas holiday shopping season, and predicted the strong numbers will carry over into 2012. Within the next few months, the retailer plans to launch its mcommerce site to attract more mobile shoppers to its online store.

"We strongly believe that BrandAlley offers our members the retail experience they want, be it online or through mcommerce," Feldmann said. He added that the website expects to hold onto its position as a U.K. market leader and high-profile player in the world of online sales.

While BrandAlley is working on ways to keep customers happy, online retailer ASOS is relaunching a strategy to boost employee morale. Employee Benefits reported ASOS has increased take-up of payroll giving by 30 percent, allowing employees to give to a charity of their choice. The effort was relaunched after employees embraced the measure during the Christmas season.
