Get set up with your bank quicker

eWAY® never holds your funds - instead, they are processed directly into your Internet Merchant Facility. If you don’t already have a compatible facility with one of our partner banks, we can request a quote on your behalf.

The bank is likely to request the following documentation from you:

Register your business

Your bank will require your business to be registered in the UK. You can do this on the Companies House website.

Create your website

Your bank may need to see the payment pages on your website prior to approving your Internet Merchant Account. If your website is in the early stages of development, you may wish to contact one of our eCommerce Developer Partners.

Our developer directory lists partners who have experience with eWAY and eCommerce websites. You can use our search function to find a developer who meets your exact needs.

If you need to add a cart to your existing website, we provide links to more than 60 shopping carts that have integrated their products with our payment gateway. Some of these carts provide a complete eCommerce site, while others can be incorporated into an existing site.

To help you find a cart that suits your business, you can search our shopping cart database for various features.

Write a business plan

Your bank may need to see a business plan before approving your Internet Merchant Account. You can use the our business plan generator to create this document.

Add contact details

Your bank will require that your website clearly displays your contact details. This may include physical address details, postal address details, phone numbers, and email addresses. A contact form that can be filled out by your customers and sends an email to your business may be sufficient, but you should confirm this with your bank.

Prepare a refund policy

Your bank will request a refund policy as part of your application for an Internet merchant facility. Below are two examples of refund policies:

Example 1

"We are happy to credit or exchange any unopened goods within 14 days of delivery, provided that we receive the goods in original condition. Returns will be approved at our discretion and all postage costs are to be incurred by the customer. If the disc is damaged upon receipt, we will be unable to accept the goods, and they will be returned to you.

”Please email returns@yourdomain.com with notification of and reason for the return. We will respond with instructions on how to proceed.

”Should you receive a faulty or damaged product, please email us [add email address] with your specific problem and we'll get back to you promptly.”

Example 2

"[Company Name] operates according to strict quality control guidelines and follows a 30-day money back guarantee, including change of mind.

”Refunds do not include postage and handling and will be processed within thirty working days of receipt of the goods. The product must be returned in original condition and packaging, with all accessories and contents.

”You must pre-pay all returns postage, and you assume any risk of lost, theft or damaged goods during transit; we therefore advise you take out shipment registration of insurance with Royal Mail. [Company Name] reserves the right to refuse to accept, and to return, parcels that arrive COD or have More To Pay stamped on them."
